The Embassy of the Republic of Congo in the Kingdom of Sweden had the honor of participating in the Lifelines exhibition, organized by Galleria Futura in Stockholm. This remarkable cultural event brought together twelve exceptional African women artists whose work reflects diverse perspectives, identities, and creative expressions across the African continent and its diaspora.

Among the featured artists was Congolese painter Rhode Bath-Schéba Makoumbou, who traveled from Belgium to present her work titled “En route pour le Marché.” Through her vibrant composition and distinctive artistic language, Makoumbou offered visitors an intimate glimpse into everyday life and social dynamics, celebrating the vitality of African communities and the strength of women.

The Embassy of the Republic of Congo was proud to support the participation of the Congolese artist and to accompany this initiative, which highlights African artistic excellence on the international stage. Cultural diplomacy remains an important avenue for strengthening dialogue, fostering understanding, and promoting the richness of African creativity.

The exhibition was attended by members of the Congolese diaspora in Sweden, who came in strong support of the artist and the cultural representation of the Republic of Congo. Their presence reflected the deep connection between Congolese communities abroad and the promotion of national culture and heritage.

Representatives of the Embassy were also present at the exhibition, including several conseillers and members of the diplomatic staff, who engaged with guests, artists, and organizers throughout the event.

The Embassy expresses its appreciation to Galleria Futura for organizing this important platform for African women artists and for contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Stockholm.

Through initiatives such as Lifelines, the Embassy of the Republic of Congo reaffirms its commitment to supporting artistic expression and strengthening cultural ties between the Republic of Congo, Sweden, and the broader international community.
